Schaebinger has been working for Mondi since 1998. He started his career with the then Frantschach Packaging AG, which was later absorbed by Mondi Group, as sales & marketing director for industrial bags. Thereafter, he discharged a variety of management responsibilities in the packaging sector, most recently as CEO of Mondi Coatings & Consumer Packaging. Before joining Mondi, he had occupied senior positions with Unilever, Diversey and Beiersdorf.

Born in Austria, Tom Schaebinger holds a master's degree in business administration, awarded by Vienna University of Economics and Business. He is married with two sons.
