Favini at Security Document World, London

Favini, the innovative Italian specialist paper manufacturer, announces its participation at Security Document World, one of the most important international event for security documentation in London, 21 – 23 May 2013, stand K25.

During the past five years Favini has been building a reputation for innovation and high quality design in the graphics paper market. New products like Crush, Twist, Softy and The Tube have shown a radical approach to new product development, whilst the associated graphic imagery has been cited as modern, fresh and Italian. More and more frequently Favini is approached by clients seeking solutions in the world of packaging and corporate communication.

In 2010, Favini also began to see opportunities in the security paper market and has deepened its watermarking capabilities with single and two tone marks as well as chemistry to apply various chemical reagents, plus planchettes and taggants – it now has a comprehensive offer of security papers for various documents – passport papers, visas, tickets, licences, lottery papers as well as traditional CBS1 and CBS2. This family of products is now Favini’s fastest growing range and continues to develop in capability.

Having created a strong offer of the traditional security features, Favini has also launched a micro emboss, a unique product called ‘Secure-Skin’. It uses special technology to emboss the paper so that a word like ‘security’ is just 2 mm long and readable only under a magnification of 10 or more. This product neatly brings together the worlds of security paper and luxury packaging under the concept of brand protection, adding another layer of defence against counterfeiting and imitation. This is a versatile process and it is possible to create a unique pattern or to add a brand name for a relatively small minimum quantity.

The area of security and brand protection is now an important part of Favini’s portfolio and further innovations are under development.
