Kodak: New Ektacolor Inks and Optimax Primers
Kodak has developed optimized water-based ink and primer products for its high-speed continuous inkjet technologies – Kodak Stream and Kodak Ultrastream Technology – that enhance the benefits of both technologies in all applications. As part of the launch of new brands, Kodak now introduces Ektacolor Inks and Optimax Primers.
Xeikon introduces top-speed toner label press for lights-out operation
Xeikon has announced the introduction of a new high-productivity and highly automated dry toner press aimed specifically at volume label printing with the highest quality. The Xeikon LX3000 model, affectionately known as The Lion, was presented to the public for the first time at the Xeikon booth during Labelexpo Europe 2023 in Brussels, on 11–14 September.

UPM Raflatac’s Ocean Action label wins Sustainability Award
UPM Raflatac has won the Sustainability Award for its Ocean Action label at the Label Industry Global Awards 2023. The announcement came on Monday, September 11, at the Label Industry Global Awards gala on the first night of Labelexpo Europe 2023. The Sustainability Award recognizes companies demonstrating progress towards a sustainable future for the global labels industry. UPM Raflatac’s Ocean Action label is an excellent example of that. It is the “world’s first certified label material to fight ocean bound plastic pollution”.

Mondi makes it a (pallet) wrap with Robopac
Mondi has partnered with Robopac, manufacturer of pallet-wrapping machinery, to offer a seamless and more sustainable paper wrapping solution for pallet storage and transportation. The two organisations collaborated closely to develop the solution, combining Mondi’s expertise in packaging and paper with Robopac’s know-how about wrapping machines.

Color-Logic at Labelexpo Europe 2023
At Labelexpo Europe 2023 (Brussels, 11-14 September) visitors to the show can see the amazing Color-Logic metallic special effects and embellishments on Stand 9B30, the Screen exhibit. In the Color-Logic area, the company will display Screen print samples produced using Screen white ink on metallic stock. The Color-Logic display will demonstrate the Color-Logic software system, which enables graphic designers, prepress personnel, and brands to see the effects on the Color-Logic FX-Viewer rather than tying up valuable press time to proof jobs. Variable data printing will also be highlighted, enabling brands to stand out from competitors by using an economical and consistently reproducible print process.

Major update of AI-assisted maintenance platform Maintellisense
Since 2019, Maintellisense has been an integral part of manroland Goss' service portfolio. The main goal of the data-driven application is to further increase the reliability and productivity of printing systems in order to sustainably reduce costs for customers. Thanks to the update, monitoring of press and production data is now individualized and automated. If Maintellisense detects relevant deviations, the customer is notified automatically. The new look and feel of Maintellisense also highlights the ease of use and pioneering approach of the maintenance platform with its clear design language.
UPM Raflatac enables its customers to offer CarbonNeutral® certified products
UPM Raflatac is extending the scope of its CarbonNeutral® certified labeling materials to cover the entire lifecycle emissions of a label. This allows its customers to offer their printed and converted labels as CarbonNeutral® product certified. The development builds on UPM Raflatac's Life Cycle Assessment service, Label Life, which recently received a new certificate of validity from international assurance service provider Dekra.
ICE Europe confidently reimagined: Industry gathering in 2025
The 13th International Converting Exhibition concluded with three dynamic days filled with thriving business, attracting 4,850 trade visitors from 64 countries. The event witnessed a remarkable 30% increase in visitor numbers compared to the previous edition. Building upon the triumph of this year's show, the decision for ICE Europe to maintain its biennial cycle has been made. The next ICE Europe show edition will unfold from 11th - 13th March 2025.
