ICE Europe 2025: Technology driven, individually tailored, sustainably forward
Energised by the previous industry convergence, which witnessed a staggering 30% surge in visitor numbers, ICE Europe is set to return from 11 – 13 March 2025, in the dynamic city of Munich, Germany. Cementing its status, the 14th International Converting Exhibition promises to unveil a torrent of cutting-edge expertise on tailored product and processing solutions, enticing investment opportunities, and ground-breaking developments. 70% of the floorspace for ICE Europe 2025 is already spoken for, underscoring its role as a pivotal hub for converting industry innovations and unmissable networking opportunities across diverse sectors.
Continuous improvement of environmental footprint of paper sacks
The European kraft paper and paper sack industry has a long tradition of tracking and communicating its environmental impact. Between 2007 and 2021, the carbon intensity of a single paper sack was reduced by 28%. This is the result of the latest carbon footprint analysis on European paper sacks. It was conducted by the Swedish research institute RISE on behalf of the European Paper Sack Research Group (ESG), a collaboration between EUROSAC and CEPI Eurokraft. Also, the fossil carbon impact per tonne of sack kraft paper was reduced by 26% during the same time. The most important findings are summarised in an infographic.
Drewsen invests €1.4 million in state-of-the-art turbo blower to increase energy efficiency
Drewsen Spezialpapiere is consistently pursuing its course towards CO2-neutral paper production. As part of the multistage transformation plan, with which 80% of the target is to be realised by 2030, the focus is not only on expanding renewable energies but also on increasing energy efficiency. For this purpose, Drewsen is investing €1.4 million in a state-of-the-art turbo blower for vacuum generation in the paper manufacturing process.
Koenig & Bauer Lauvic becomes a 100 percent Koenig & Bauer subsidiary
Press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer will be operating through a branch office of its own in Spain in future. With immediate effect, the current agency Koenig & Bauer Lauvic in Barcelona is being taken over and transformed into a 100-percent group subsidiary. Sascha Fischer has been appointed as new managing director.

Kodak has launched version 10.0 of web-based Kodak Prinergy Insite Portals that provide authorized users with 24/7 access from anywhere. With version 10.0, Kodak has upgraded the Kodak Prinergy Insite Prepress Portal (IPP) and the Kodak Prinergy Insite Creative Workflow (ICW) with multiple new enhancements. This includes improved usability thanks to collapsible Job Group lists in IPP to reduce the amount of scrolling.

Driving the Digital Transformation

Druckzentrum Zurich (DZZ): Successful revision for sustained top performance
Ferag AG recently carried out a successful revision for Druckzentrum Zürich (DZZ) in order to extend the service life of its production facilities. The focus of this revision was the replacement of the control drum on an MSD inserting drum. The component was in operation since 2001 and needed to be replaced now.
