XSYS announces new CEO

XSYS, integrated solutions provider to the flexographic, letterpress and pre-press printing markets, announces that as of today Oliver Dohn is the new Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of XSYS. Departing CEO Dagmar Schmidt has played a leading role in the company for over 25 years, holding multiple executive positions, including as the group-wide Chief Transformation Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and since February 2022 as the CEO. During her tenure she successfully led the carve-out of the company from Flint Group and transformed the business into a global leader in the flexographic printed packaging industry.

UPM Raflatac adhesives and e-commerce paper labels verified by the PTS

Ten UPM Raflatac adhesives for logistics and e-commerce paper labels have been certified as recyclable in the paper and board-based packaging stream by the applied research and services institute Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) in 2023. These adhesives are intended for large volume solutions, providing customers with the added benefit of recycling-compatible, verified labeling solutions without requiring any product changes.

FlexoPartners opts for MPS EFA fully automated flexo press

Canadian printer FlexoPartners has purchased an MPS EFA 430 fully automated flexo press with the MPS performance program to maximize their full production capabilities. The order was led by Jerry Wynia of Northern Graphic Solutions, the MPS representative in Canada, and the press is since installed and running production.

Kodak is proud to announce Mercury Print Productions as its first customer for the Kodak Prosper 7000 Turbo Press. Mercury, based in Rochester, NY, USA, has chosen the “fastest inkjet web press currently available on the market” to significantly expand its high-volume digital printing capacity.

Saica is expanding with six machines by Koenig & Bauer Celmacch

Saica Group invested heavily in corrugated board-processing machinery by Koenig & Bauer Celmacch. Starting from Summer 2024, six new lines in total will progressively go into production. Four Machines of the highest performance-class series ChromaCut X Pro will be installed in England, Portugal, France and Italy, two further machines of the high performance-class series Chroma HighTech will be delivered at different locations of the Group in Spain.

OE-A Business Climate Survey: Mixed feelings despite positive expectations

“The forecast for the Printed Electronics Industry remains positive and stable. We are slightly less optimistic than in the spring survey in March of this year, with an expected sales increase of 16 percent for 2023. Nevertheless, a promising 18 percent increase is projected for 2024,” says Dr. Klaus Hecker, OE-A Managing Director, about the results of the latest business climate survey. The biannual survey is conducted by OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association), a Working Group within VDMA.
