Taking part in the annually run competition is now possible. All submissions will be showcased at LOPEC 2024 and beyond.
Koenig & Bauer partners with hubergroup Print Solutions
Koenig & Bauer has signed a cooperation agreement with the printing ink specialist hubergroup Print Solutions, forming a partnership covering conventional printing inks specifically for Rapida sheetfed offset presses. Extensive tests using hubergroup’s printing inks were conducted before the agreement was signed. The inks were optimised for high-performance printing on the Rapida presses, and their ongoing use in the Koenig & Bauer CEC means they are subject to constant quality monitoring processes. This is why Koenig & Bauer recommends the exclusive use of these tested and certified printing inks on Rapida sheetfed offset presses worldwide.
Manroland Goss announces acquisition of Galred as an add-on to GWS

Meyers purchases fourth MPS EF flexo press
MPS Systems North America confirms the sale of a new 530mm, 10-color MPS EF next generation fully automated flexographic press to Meyers, the fourth MPS machine added to their production facility. Drewsen Spezialpapiere encourages health and environmentally friendly mobility
Since mid-June, employees at Drewsen Spezialpapiere in Lachendorf have the opportunity to charge their e-bikes free of charge at one of the three new charging stations. The introduction of the e-bike charging stations closes the circle that started last year with the introduction of the “cycle to work” scheme. In addition to the purely practical benefits for employees of being able to charge their e-bikes conveniently and easily during work, the step also underlines the company's commitment to climate protection and sustainability.
Gallus opens doors to new industry facility, celebrating 100th anniversary
Gallus Group, a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), is active in the development, production, and sale of conventional and digital narrow-web and reel-fed presses for the label printing industry. Yesterday, it was celebrating its 100th anniversary by opening its doors to a brand-new industry hub in St. Gallen, Switzerland – the Gallus Experience Center – which is designed to serve as an industry touchpoint for customers, industry experts, stakeholders and members of the public, to drive market transformation. Importantly, Gallus is also utilizing its centenary celebrations to announce the launch of three new products across its portfolio: the Heidelberg Customer Portal, the new Gallus One with Converting, and a digital upgrade to the company’s successful Gallus ECS 340.
Food paper packaging with recycled content
Mondi has partnered with Syntegon, a manufacturer of process and packaging machinery, to develop a recyclable paper packaging solution using recycled fibres for dried foods such as flour, sugar and pasta. The packaging uses Mondi’s award-winning EcoVantage kraft paper which has been approved by ISEGA for the entire food packaging sector. EcoVantage is made from recycled and responsibly sourced fresh fibres and was previously mainly used for paper shopping bags.

Koenig & Bauer Supplies Large-Format Sheetfed Offset Technology to Packaging Specialist Rondo
Rondo Ganahl AG has invested 36 million euros in its St. Ruprecht site in the Austrian province of Styria,culminating in the inauguration of one of the most modern print centres for corrugated packaging in Europe. The centrepiece in the production hall is a new six-colour Rapida 164 sheetfed offset press with inline coater and extended delivery.
