W. Kohlhammer Druckerei GmbH + Co. KG (Kohlhammer) specializes in manufacturing print products of an exceptionally high quality. The 140-year-old business based in the Obertürkheim district of Stuttgart mainly produces magazines, brochures, catalogs, annual reports, and books. The full-service production company’s services range from repro, print data/quality management, sheetfed offset printing, Print on Demand, and postpress operations through to warehouse and shipping logistics.

Klingele buys another CorruCut from Koenig & Bauer

The Klingele Paper & Packaging Group is investing in another CorruCUT High Board Line Rotary Die-cutter from Koenig & Bauer. The new six-colour machine is scheduled to start production at the Klingele plant in Werne in the summer of next year. With a future capacity of almost 200 million square metres of corrugated board, this plant is one of the largest operated by the group.

Sappi Europe declares energy surcharge across all products

Sappi Europe can no longer absorb the full extent of the unprecedented increase in energy prices and announces the intention to apply a general energy surcharge across all products. A surcharge of € 100.- / ton will be applied to all invoices dated from 25 October 2021 until further notice and is in addition to any current and future price increases.

Koenig & Bauer Durst GmbH has unveiled the VariJet 106 in a world premiere with exclusive live demonstrations for customers and stakeholders in Radebeul, near Dresden, Germany, where the modular single pass sheetfed digital printing press for the folding carton market has been jointly developed by Koenig & Bauer and Durst.

Productivity increased by 50 percent

4bind Ltd in Stevenage, England, part of the 4books Group, has achieved two goals at once after commissioning a Vareo perfect binder and a VBA 3683 end sheet feeder from Muller Martini. Firstly, it significantly improved their competitiveness for slightly higher runs of book production. Secondly, the bindery increased its hardcover and softcover productivity by 50 percent compared to their previous solution.

Feldmuehle: Energy surcharge of 100 euros per tonne

Due to the intermediately increased input costs of energy and gas, Feldmuehle is forced to implement a temporarily energy surcharge of 100 euros per tonne for all its products as of 18th October 2021 deliveries. The surcharge is coming on top of already announced 10% increase from October and will remain until energy and gas levels will come down to a reasonable level.

The task of placing an ever increasing number of inserts in a wide variety of combinations led to a comprehensive investment programme at Rheinisch-Bergische Druckerei. New inserting technology, significantly more hoppers and an optimal system layout have given the Düsseldorf-based company much greater flexibility in its mailroom.

Rossmann Group invests in Koenig & Bauer CorruCut

Romcarton S.A., a member of the French Rossmann Group, is investing in a CorruCut from Koenig & Bauer. With seven printing units, it will be the longest CorruCut made to date. The machine is scheduled for commissioning by summer of next year, when it will begin production in Popesti-Leordeni near the Romanian capital, Bucharest, at one of the largest and most modern box plants in Southeast Europe.

Agfa, Interprint and Koenig & Bauer partner for digital décor printing

Décor paper printing company Interprint expands its product range by deploying Agfa’s water-based pigmented inkjet ink set on two of its single-pass high-speed Koenig & Bauer RotaJet presses. Interprint recently invested in a third RotaJet system, their second one of the latest generation. Both of these are now running on the same Agfa ink set.
