Sappi and UPM propose new Joint Venture company for graphic paper business
Sappi Limited (“Sappi”) and UPM-Kymmene Corporation (“UPM”) have announced the signing of a non-binding letter of intent to form a non-listed, independent 50/50 Joint Venture for graphic paper. This Joint Venture will bring together Sappi’s European Graphic Paper business with UPM’s Communication Papers business in Europe, the UK and the US. The transaction will be subject to the fulfilment of a number of regulatory and other conditions, including shareholder approval.
Heidelberg commits to supporting young talent in the printing industry
In November, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) and the Swiss Printing and Media Association jointly hosted the first "Print Technology World Championship" for young printing professionals at the Print Media Center, the “Home of Print”, at the Heidelberg site in Wiesloch-Walldorf. Mimaki Europe announces that Diseños Metálicos Ferrum, based in Andalusia, Spain, has installed a Mimaki JFX200-2513EX UV flatbed printer and a CFX-2513 cutting table. The investment, supplied and supported by Digidelta Andalucía, Mimaki’s exclusive distributor in Iberia, marks the first combined installation of these two systems in the region.
