Sense Creative’s LumeJet S200 purchase opens up new markets

Darlington based print and photo product specialist, Sense Creative, has signed a contract for the purchase a LumeJet S200 printer. The move is designed to extend the company’s portfolio of products and specifically to target the photographic market with the ultra-high quality output from the LumeJet.

Tim Thompson, Sense Creative’s Managing Director, explained how the company had come to order a LumeJet machine. “We saw a couple of reviews of the LumeJet S200 in the trade press which, as we were looking at the photographic market, were really interesting. We followed up with LumeJet and when we finally saw the quality of the samples they blew us away.”

He continued; “We think that photographers are a key market for us but, to service the sector adequately, we need the highest quality print possible. The output from the LumeJet means that we can happily reach into the photographic market. There is no other machine on the market where we can approach photographers and be confident that we can exceed their expectations.”

The LumeJet printer, the S200, takes 305 mm photographic roll paper for page sizes up to A3 landscape double-page spread, full bleed, including trim (1000 x 305 mm maximum) – ideal for lay flat books. Using the RGB colour space, it is ICC profiled and achieves amazing colour fidelity, including hard-to-print Pantone® spot colours like Reflex Blue, neons, metallics and pastels, as well as flawless solid black.

Initially Sense Creative will be using the S200 to deliver a range of photo products via a web to print system from its website. It is looking to handle thousands of files a day, giving it a high order rate with each order having a relatively low value. Driven through the company’s facebook and Instagram channels the relatively low cost of the products allows end-users to sample real benefits the LumeJet S200 can provide.

The company is currently setting up a dedicated portal for its photonic print offering and is inviting photographers to register on the site to give them access to a range of products and special offers that will be available once the LumeJet is fully commissioned. Photographers can register at the following link: http://www.sensecreative.co.uk/photonics.

The S200 printer is scheduled for delivery at Sense Creative at the end of April and, in the meantime, the company is working through the whole backend process, developing a dedicated section of its website to serve the S200 clients.

Commenting on the order Miles Bentley, LumeJet’s Commercial Director said; “It’s interesting to be working with a company that is so commercially focussed and wanting to explore the limits of the printer. While Sense Creative has a clear aim of utilizing the ultra-high quality output the S200 has to offer in the photographic market, it is also asking us wider questions about what else can be achieved with the machine. The concept of running the S200 on a virtual continuous output system, served via a web-to-print gateway, printing thousands of individual files a day is exciting.”
