Premiere of the Granit Three-Knife Trimmer is Celebrated in Style

With 150 guests from Austria and almost all Eastern European countries, Muller Martini Eastern Europe’s open house event – which saw the world premiere of the new Granit three-knife trimmer on the 40th anniversary of Muller Martini Austria – was a tremendous success. At the event held in Rannersdorf near Vienna, guests showed great interest not only in the live demos of the Granit, but also the presentation of the MMServices global service portfolio and the new center of excellence for used machinery.

“As host of the event I couldn’t have hoped for more.” Roland Henn, Managing Director of Muller Martini Eastern Europe, was delighted with how the open house event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Muller Martini Austria – which was held right at the start of spring on the International Day of Happiness – went. “I was particularly pleased that the 150 guests also included many customers and specialist journalists from as far afield as Russia, Bulgaria and Romania.”

Rudolf Müller, Chairman of the Board of Muller Martini, was also visibly impressed. In his welcoming speech, he underlined Muller Martini’s importance to the graphic arts industry. “Serving the printing industry means not just selling quality products, but also responding to your needs regarding your specific machine applications and training of your personnel, having highly trained people that understand your market, and answering all your related questions.”

Three-Minute Changeovers with the Granit

To enable customers to overcome their current challenges such as falling runs, minimization of stock levels, the growing importance of digital printing and shorter processing times, all Muller Martini systems have a high degree of automation, explained Müller. A typical example is the Granit three-knife trimmer, which was unveiled in Vienna and was the star attraction of the open house with its live demos, he said. “SmartPress technology, which has proven itself in the three-knife trimmers in our upper performance range, guarantees not only optimal and consistently high trim quality, but also allows planning and efficiently organizing production runs with a job changeover time of just three minutes.”

Henn also received a lot of positive feedback about the Granit from the guests of the open house event. “Thanks to its excellent price-performance ratio, the new three-knife trimmer is ideal for our market in Eastern Europe.  The productivity of older Muller Martini perfect binders, as well as lines from other manufacturers, can be vastly increased, especially for shorter runs, by making a relatively small investment.”

MMServices and Center of Excellence for Used Machinery

Both the Granit and the MMServices global service portfolio saw great interest at the open house event near Vienna, at which the guests from many countries exchanged experiences with one another and with specialists from Muller Martini. “Our service portfolio optimizes operational and investment costs, ensures productivity, quality and added value, provides reliable investment protection for production machinery, and increases the profitability of machines,” explained Henn. “Our specialists present detailed concepts for lifecycle management,” he added.

Since there is a new competence center for used machinery at Muller Martini’s head office in Rannersdorf, visitors to the open house could pick up ideas for their own machine lineup and see for themselves how used equipment is professionally overhauled by Muller Martini, from cleaning alone to full reconditioning, all accompanied by expert service advice.
