MM Karton joins Xeikon Aura Partner network

Xeikon, an innovator in digital printing technology and Mayr-Melnhof Karton, the world’s leading producer of recycled fibre based board with a rising position in virgin fibre based board, has announced that following extensive testing and cooperation, MM Karton is joining the Xeikon Aura partner network.

Packaging printers and converters are discovering the power and possibilities of digital printing more and more. Xeikon introduced its folding carton suite in 2012; the cooperation with MM Karton is an important next step in expanding the portfolio of folding carton substrates that have been tested and certified on Xeikon 3000 Series presses. Ten different MM Karton boards have been certified: from the GC range: Silvawhite, Silvaboard, Kromopak, Optimus Top, Excellent Top and MM Digicarton as well as Multicolor Mirabell and Topcolor from the WLC range.

Announcing the collaboration, Mr. Horst Bittermann, Head of Marketing at MM Karton stated: “As a solution provider, MMK is keen to connect with innovative partners in the industry. Our holistic approach enables us to provide our customers with tailor-made and state-of the art solutions. Through our cooperation with Xeikon, we are further extending our cooperation network in the growing digital print sector.”

Filip Weymans, Director Segment Marketing Labels and Packaging at Xeikon, adds: “One of our key initiatives is to provide complete solutions to the users of our technology. The folding carton suite bundles all the components and services we can offer our customers to build a custom made folding carton solution. We have been forming some strong industry partnerships with key print media, software, consumables and equipment/tool manufacturers under the Xeikon Aura partner network. Our partnership with MM Karton is another important step in this direction.”

Xeikon will exhibit in Booth 9H45, at Labelexpo Europe 2013. The company will also have a significant presence in the Package Printing Workshop (Hall 12), where a Xeikon 3500 will be printing on MM Karton’s Silvawhite 275gsm, and producing ready to glue-and-fold cartons.
