Gravure industry will meet in Mainz, Germany

Under the headline “From Gutenberg to digital – changes in the world of communication” the European Rotogravure Association (ERA) invites the gravure industry to its Annual Conference to be held in Mainz, Germany on 30 September – 01 October.

Some hundred participants from Europe and overseas are expected to discuss the ongoing structural changes in the markets for communication and the consequences for the printing industry. The conference presentations will give an overview of the current situation of the gravure industry, as well as trends and new developments. Beside the technical presentations, the continuing economic and financial turbulences in the Euro Zone will be discussed by Dr Jens Ulbrich, chief economist of the German Bundesbank.

Gravure has kept its strong position in the printing of magazines and catalogues: in Europe almost 3.5 million tonnes of paper are still gravure printed for magazines and catalogues. All major magazines and catalogues are produced in gravure.

Details and registration forms may be downloaded from the ERA website www.era.eu.org.
