Hubergroup Print Solutions, a global specialist in printing inks, is adjusting the pricing of its nitrocellulose-based products manufactured in Europe due to a significant increase in raw material costs. The price changes will vary based on the nitrocellulose content of each product. Customers will be individually informed by their local representatives, who are available to answer any questions or provide further details.
Nitrocellulose is a critical component in the production of solvent-based printing inks and is also widely used across various other industries. Recently, there has been a market rise in demand for nitrocellulose in so-called “energetic” applications, particularly in military sectors. This shift has led to growing global supply constraints and a sharp increase in prices—by as much as 50%—for ink-related uses.
To ensure continued supply reliability and the high quality of our products, hubergroup is implementing a short-term price adjustment starting from the 1st of July for its nitrocellulose-based product range. The extent of the increase will depend on each product’s nitrocellulose content and may reach up to 10%.
Carsten Zölzer, CCO Print Solutions at hubergroup, stated: “We understand that fluctuating prices can be challenging for our customers. We are committed to maintaining transparency and open dialogue as we navigate these changes. Our priority remains ensuring a stable supply chain and the continued availability of our high-quality products.”
Hubergroup also emphasizes its commitment to long-standing, trustworthy partnerships with its customers. The company is working diligently to mitigate the impact of these increases by leveraging its global supply network. Nonetheless, the price adjustment has become unavoidable under the current market conditions.
Customers are encouraged to reach out to their hubergroup contacts with any questions or concerns.
