Solimar Systems, Inc., developer of Customer Communication Management and Delivery solutions, announced the release of SOLscript Xpress™ that enables organizations to print Xerox VIPP® (Variable Data Intelligent PostScript Printware) applications on printers with Fiery DFEs (digital front ends). This innovative solution eliminates technology silos in production print and mail environments, allowing businesses to leverage their existing VIPP investments while modernizing their printing infrastructure.
SOLscript Xpress is a PostScript preamble software that runs directly on the Fiery controllers, enabling VIPP applications to print seamlessly. This represents a significant advancement in print interoperability, addressing a long-standing challenge faced by organizations with existing variable data applications designed to output VIPP. These organizations need to send print jobs to their various devices, most of which do not natively support VIPP.
“Organizations have invested millions in VIPP-based workflows and desire to direct this work to various printers in their factory as well as household into other applications,” states Mary Ann Rowan, CXO, Solimar Systems. “For many years, our customers have used SOLscript as a module of Solimar® Print Director Enterprise™ (SPDE), and now SOLscript Xpress runs directly on the Fiery controller, eliminating the need for a front-end print server. This liberates companies in protecting their technology investments and sunsetting infrastructure that is no longer needed.”
