Maurizio Bertocco named as UCIMA President-designate
The Nomination Committee of UCIMA (the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association) has identified Maurizio Bertocco, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ILPRA SpA, as the candidate for the Association's presidency for the 2026-2030 term. The Board of Directors, which met on April 15, expressed its favorable opinion on submitting the nomination to the General Assembly, scheduled for July 2, 2026. It will be on that occasion that Bertocco's official appointment is expected to take place, marking the handover from the current President, Riccardo Cavanna, who has led the association with authority and strategic vision throughout his term.

Sappi and UPM announce the signing of binding agreements for proposed Joint Venture
Sappi Limited (“Sappi”) and UPM-Kymmene Corporation (“UPM”) have announced the signing of binding (definitive) agreements to form a non-listed, independent 50/50 Joint Venture for graphic paper. This Joint Venture proposes to bring together Sappi’s European Graphic Paper business with UPM’s Communication Papers business in Europe, the UK and the US.
