The Global Rotogravure Association is proud to announce the winners of this year’s International Gravure Awards — honouring excellence, innovation, and sustainability in gravure printing. The awards were presented during the gala dinner of the International Gravure Days, held from 20 to 22 October 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Florya in Istanbul.
Heidelberg taking prepress automation to the next level
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is committed to the goal of fully automating the print production value chain so that printing becomes an autonomous process. Even though digitalization more or less started with prepress, further potential to make efficiency gains still exists. Heidelberg is taking the automation of computer-to-plate (CtP) processing to the next level by launching the Compact Pallet Loader (CPL) and the Compact Bender, and by integrating them into a single CtP line.
OE-A Business Climate Survey: Solid growth for the flexible and printed electronics industry
“The results of our business climate survey show that the printed electronics industry remains on track, even though the conditions are challenging. We see a mixed but overall stable and positive picture. Companies are acting cautiously, investing specifically in research and development, and retaining their employees. Despite the turbulent situation caused by wars and US tariff policy, the industry is looking ahead,” says Dr. Klaus Hecker, Managing Director of the OE-A, commenting on the results of the latest business climate survey.
Adobe rejoins the Ghent Workgroup
The Ghent Workgroup (GWG) is pleased to announce that Adobe has decided to rejoin the group. Since 1982, Adobe has been pioneering digital print workflows. It invented PDF in 1993 and, in doing so, kicked off a revolution in how the print and publishing industry worked. Today, PDF has become an ISO standard and is the basis of everything the Ghent Workgroup invests time in. Having Adobe as an active GWG member is incredibly important for the group and the industry it represents.

Heidelberg and MK Masterwork celebrate ten years of partnership
It's a success story: Ten years ago, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) and MK Masterwork, Chinese manufacturer of finishing systems for the packaging sector, agreed on a strategic sales partnership. As part of this, Heidelberg distributes high-performance die-cutters as well as folding carton gluers and hot-foil stamping machines from MK Masterwork outside of China. Since then Heidelberg has installed around 1,500 systems produced by MK Masterwork at customer sites around the world. Now, at a joint anniversary event at MK Masterwork's headquarters in Tianjin with around 100 international customers, both companies looked back on the milestones of their long-standing successful partnership.

Heidelberg welcomes more than 200 international guests from the printing industry to Shift 2025
Enormous cost and competitive pressure, as well as the increasing difficulty of recruiting suitable personnel on the market, are driving the printing industry. An additional challenge is the fact that printing companies now have to generate a significant portion of their revenue, which they previously achieved with high-volume orders, through a large number of small orders. With conventional working methods, it is difficult to manage such an order structure economically.
