Dear reader,

it is a commitment that the organizers of Ipex had hoped to secure from other large and important companies for 2014: After a string of cancellations of many global players in the printing industry, it is now the digital printing manufacturer Konica Minolta, who has committed their fair appearance with an extensive investment due to the realignment of Ipex. This shows two things: first, that this realignment was necessary and secondly, that this change may have come too late, at least for Ipex 2014. The European trade fair landscape is undergoing a structural change in the printing and media landscape. Other interesting topics are summarized in our news selection below.

China Print 2013 confirms leading role of Chinese market for Heidelberg

With over 180,000 visitors, the China Print trade show, held from May 14 to 18, 2013, in Beijing, has firmly established itself as Asia's biggest event for the print media industry. In addition to healthy interest from Chinese companies, the number of visitors from outside China rose significantly. China Print welcomed above all, print shops from other countries in Asia, such as Taiwan, the Philippines, and India, but also visitors from Central and South America and Russia. Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) presented its products and services, including a large number of innovations, on the growing Asian market, under the banner Discover HEI.

Holmen: Capacity cuts to take place in September
