Allimand: Just starting up its 14th paper machine in China07/18/2011

The 16th paper machine was started up during the Spring in Mudanjiang, a town with two million inhabitants, located in North East China: This is the 3rd paper machine that Allimand has built for the Mudanjiang Hengfeng Paper Co. over the last ten years.

Mudanjiang Hengfeng Paper has 2,300 employees and operates 16 paper machines for a total annual production of 100,000 t of special fine paper.

The commissioning of the latest machine (electricity, air, water and oil supply followed by movement and rotation tests) was completed within less than a month and the first reels were produced.  A week later, PM16 was already producing paper in line with the contractual quality specifications.

The machine has a width of 3,800 mm and is designed to produce a basis weight range from 25 to 45 g/m² at a maximum production speed of 450 m/min.
