SIG signs CEO call for governments to align COVID-19 recovery with latest climate science

SIG and other companies committed to science-based climate action have released a joint Recover Better statement, which calls on governments around the world to match their ambition to achieve a zero-carbon economy by aligning COVID-19 economic aid and recovery efforts with the latest climate science.

Envases Group acquires multi-substrate Nilpeter FA-22 for Buenos Aires plant

Argentinian packaging holding, Envases Group, has aquired a Nilpeter FA-22 Multi-Substrate Press to further build on their leading status in the South American region. Envases Group has plants in Buenos Aires, San Luis and in Cartagena, Colombia, and specializes in aerosol aluminium and tinplate cans. Last year, the company launched a new pharmaceutical packaging division with the acquisition of the only roll-to-roll Hapa digital printer in Latin America.

Over 736 million prints with Speedmaster from Heidelberg

Speedmaster from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) has once again proven its reliability. Fifteen years ago, MM Polygrafoformlenie Packaging Company (MM POF), one of the biggest packaging printers in Russia, installed a Speedmaster XL 105 offset press. Till to date, the Speedmaster XL 105-6+L has printed over 736 million sheets — that is, on average, it delivers more than 49 million sheets per year and more than 4 million sheets per month.

New Iggesund thick paperboard for packaging certified for HP Indigo digital commercial presses

A new thick paperboard from Iggesund Paperboard has been certified for HP Indigo for printing high-value applications on commercial digital presses. The 18 pt (457 microns ) Invercote Creato 380 g/m2 is double coated on both sides, offering identical print surfaces on both sides, making it especially suitable for premium packaging applications The paperboard was tested and certified for the HP Indigo 10000 series and HP Indigo 7000 series presses.

Lecta now operating under the ISO 45001 standard

Lecta has successfully completed the adaptation process of OHSAS 18001 certification to the new ISO 45001 standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems in all its manufacturing sites as planned. The new international certification will replace OHSAS 18001 starting in March 2021. Lecta has completed its transition smoothly and with ample time for transition.

West London signage company FD Signs successfully delivers nearly 100,000 social distancing floor graphics for use across the London transport network. “We do jobs for TFL (Transport for London) fairly regularly,” says FD Signs founder and director Fintan Delaney. “But we’ve never done anything for them on this scale. We were delighted to get the opportunity and all of our suppliers really stepped up to make sure we had everything we needed to finish the job.”
