FESPA position re: COVID-19

FESPA Global Print Expo 2020 will take place as scheduled from 24-27 March 2020 at IFEMA – Feria de Madrid, Spain, along with the co-located exhibitions, European Sign Expo 2020 and Sportswear Pro 2020. FESPA takes the concerns of exhibitors, visitors and partners regarding the outbreak of COVID-19 (also known as novel coronavirus) very seriously. Safety is always first priority, and FESPA wishes to take proactive steps to minimise the risks to all participants at the March 2020 events in Madrid. As such, the FESPA Board and Senior Management Team is actively monitoring all developments relating to COVID-19, guided by latest information from WHO (World Health Organisation).

Jumping across the Plata River

With the acquisition of an Alegro perfect binder from Muller Martini, Argentine full-service company Arcángel Maggio has created the basis for a successful branch in neighboring Uruguay. A wide estuary formed by the confluence of two South American rivers divides Argentina and Uruguay. But the Plata River is no barrier to the company in Buenos Aires on its way to becoming the largest exporter of books in the region. It opened a production complex in Colonia del Sacramento that occupies 4,000 m2, half the size of the company’s facility in Barracas, a neighborhood in the Argentine capital. An important part of the investment volume in Uruguay is a Muller Martini Alegro perfect binder with an 18-station 3694 gathering machine, a Book Data Center, a Frontero front trimmer, a Solit three-knife trimmer and a CB18 book stacker.

Sample products to discuss sustainable flexible packaging

Up to 70 percent less scrap and changeover time with the Die Control Wizard

The Die Control Wizard (DCW) is a new automation module developed by the machine manufacturer Windmöller & Hölscher for the Filmex II cast film line. With the DCW width and thickness changes are possible in the shortest possible time during production. The process is fully automated. Manual adjustment of the dies is no longer necessary. The result: both changeover time and scrap are reduced by up to 70 percent.
