AkzoNobel puts the cool into McLaren’s stylish new Formula 1 car, the MCL35

McLaren Racing’s 2020 Formula 1 car raced into view ahead of the new season, with AkzoNobel (AK again supplying hi-tech coatings technology for the stylish MCL35. As official paint and coatings partner of the McLaren Racing team, the company’s Sikkens brand has helped McLaren to stand out on the grid since 2008. With a new look and design for the 2020 season, all painted parts of the latest race car – as well as the team’s transport, garage and accessories – feature AkzoNobel’s high-performance products.

Revamped World Wrap Masters feature to return to FESPA Global Print Expo 2020

World Wrap Masters, FESPA’s popular vehicle wrapping competition, will return with reinvigorated displays and a new scoring system to FESPA Global Print Expo 2020, taking place from 24 – 27 March 2020 at IFEMA in Madrid. Subscription agreement with Heidelberg

Schumacher Packaging GmbH & Co. KG, one of Europe’s largest family-run packaging printers, with annual sales of approximately € 650 million, has signed a subscription contract with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) for its site in Forchheim (Bavaria). The company, which is “already a leader in productivity and technology in the corrugated and solid board packaging sector”, expects to significantly boost the productivity of sheetfed offset operations at its Bavarian site as a result of the move.

Durst restructures textile printing segment

Durst, manufacturer of advanced digital printing and production technologies, has restructured its segment for industrial textile printing. The new segment manager, Dr. Stefan Kappaun, has responsibility for the strategic direction in home textiles, clothing and accessories. Dr. Kappaun also will be the connecting link to the Large Format Segment, which takes over soft signage and fabrics in the portfolio.

Mimaki to premiere latest innovations at C!Print

Mimaki Europe, manufacturer of inkjet printers and cutting systems, announced that it will exhibit its broad portfolio of cutting-edge digital print technologies at Salon C!Print (4 – 6 February, Lyon, France). This will include the first showing in France of the company’s brand-new SWJ-320EA large format solvent printer, JFX200-2513 EX large flatbed UV inkjet printer and two models of the recently launched Plus series.

Consistent Concept – High Quality

Digital large-format printing, brilliant colours, iridescent foil effects for interior design, innovations in textile finishing and even a global premiere graced Europe’s Trade Show for Visual Communication in Düsseldorf. The concept focusing on interactive experiences plus the innovative layout went down well with both exhibitors and trade visitors alike. The high quality of conversations and number of business deals closed, however, could not hide the fact that attendance levels were down on last year. With 7,160 visitors roughly the same number attended as in 2017.

Vogtland Kartonagen boosts efficiency

It could be said that Vogtland Kartonagen from Reichenbach in Eastern Germany already foresaw Koenig & Bauer’s recent activities and company acquisitions relating to the packaging market many years ago. The company has been using die-cutting equipment from Iberica since 1998. The original purchase was replaced with a newer model in 2005. One year later, the first folder-gluer from Duran was installed. In the meantime, both suppliers have been integrated into the Koenig & Bauer Group. Alongside these developments, large-format sheetfed offset presses from Koenig & Bauer have been the printing machines of choice since 2002.

At this year’s FESPA, Neschen Coating GmbH is presenting a creative bike café. In addition to its top sellers, the company is presenting product innovations such as a new hybrid mounting film for difficult substrates, currently the “only solution of this kind on the market”.
