Heidelberg Label Unit (Gallus) with new management

Dr. Frank Schaum (54) has headed the Label division (Gallus) of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) in Sankt Gallen (Switzerland) since the beginning of March 2020. He succeeds Christof Naier, who left the company at his own request.

Global PrintExpo launches as a fully virtual exhibition

Flint Group: Solvent surcharge across all solvent-based inks and coatings

Flint Group Packaging Inks Europe confirms the implementation of a solvent surcharge for its solvent-based inks and coatings in Europe, effective 1st April 2020. The surcharge will be implemented as promptly as possible and will vary depending upon the specific product portfolio and commercial terms each customer has in place. The surcharge will remain active until the current raw material volatility subsides. Orders received up until 31st March 2020 will not be affected.

Koenig & Bauer classified as system-relevant in Italy

The Italian government has classified Koenig & Bauer Flexotecnica as a system-relevant manufacturer. This means that the company is permitted to continue working at its facility in Tavazzano near Milan, despite the nationwide lockdown which currently applies. The reason for this decision: Packaging for food and pharmaceutical products is deemed an essential factor in the efforts to maintain reliable supplies to the population.

DS Printech China debuts in Shenzhen to unlock business potential in South China

In response to the rising demand for screen and digital printing equipment, Messe Frankfurt’s new DS Printech China fair, to be held from 28 – 30 October 2020, will offer industry practitioners an invaluable opportunity to explore this market further. Furthermore, the fair will be relocated to a brand-new exhibition venue in Shenzhen, where a digital printing hub is located in nearby cities.

Hunkeler Innovationdays: Postponement by one year to 2022

The Hunkeler Innovationdays planned for 22-25 February 2021 will be postponed by one year to 21-24 February 2022. The reason for this is the postponement of the trade fair events due to the spread of the coronavirus. Since Drupa Düsseldorf is now postponed to April 2021, an adjustment of the industry meeting in Lucerne is the logical consequence. This decision was made in close cooperation with various printer and finishing exhibition partners.

Cancellation of the conference AM4I - Additive Manufacturing for Industry

Due to the current situation due to COVID 19, it is not possible to hold the conference AM4I - Additive Manufacturing for Industry on 26 and 27 May in Ludwigsburg. Therefore the Working Group Additive Manufacturing (AG AM) of the VDMA is unfortunately forced to cancel the conference AM4I in May 2020. The VDMA will inform you in time if and when the conference can be revived.
